Mommy Minute: Ariel Simmons

Hello Ladies,

The reception for Mommy Minute has been amazing! Thank you for all of the support on our first feature!

This week, I am honored to feature another mover and shaker of a woman. She runs a few different businesses and is a loving mommy to an adorable little boy. Like me, she had a premature birth story and decided to turn her experience into something positive through a children’s book! Her children’s book, Miracle Malcolm, has been featured in Fox News, NBC and CBS!

She is so down-to-earth and a cheerleader for other women. She is totally winning right now, yet humble. Her humility and work ethic is so admirable! I am truly inspired by her willingness to support any woman, whether she knows her personally or not. She was supporting women before Women’s History Month and is the definition of a sister and supporter. I am loving her vibes and her heart shines through her smile and her deeds. I am so pleased to introduce you to this beautiful, mommy and entrepreneur.

Meet Ariel Simmons

My name is Ariel Simmons. I am 30 years old. I was born and raised in Chicago, IL. I have an older brother that currently lives in Arizona.

Throughout school I was always super artistic and active in sports. I was very involved in plays, dance, writing, and running track! Although I was a bit reserved and a bit of an introvert, when it came to anything artsy or if it involved running, I was apart of it.

My ultimate goal was to always own something and have my own business. So, after school I focused on ways to surround myself with others and come out of my shell more so that I can grow to that next level. I’ve always enjoyed writing as well - so now, I’m able to combine my love and passion for ownership and my love for writing by creating my children’s book brand, Miracle Malcolm LLC.

I have one child so far, Malcolm Ellzey. My greatest lesson I’ve learned since having Malcolm has been to allow myself grace. Motherhood is hard. Motherhood can be exhausting and challenging, especially while trying to birth a business as well. With the many “hats” of being a mom, I’ve had to learn how to be nice to myself and be patient with the process.

The piece of advice I’d offer to other moms is to honor and listen to their bodies and make time for them! Self care is so important so that we don’t lose ourselves mentally or physically. Also, to rely on your support system. It’s ok to ask for help and it’s even ok to say no - if it means saving your peace.

Please be sure to look up Miracle Malcom on Amazon (it’s a great book for any child) and follow Ariel on her socials! @arielsimmons

xx,
