Mommy Minute: Ngozi Nneka Okpalefe

Hey Mommas!
In today’s mommy minute I have the pleasure of introducing a dynamic mother of three. Her ability to code-switch, if you will, between her career and motherhood, two cultures, and future goals all while maintaining a YouTube channel is outstanding! She has such a sweet, bubbly and supportive spirit and I am happy to have made her acquaintance, albeit virtually. She has a motherhood journey very similar to mine and she has persevered through the hardships with a smile on her face.

Meet Ngozi Nneka Okpalefe

My name is Ngozi Nneka Okpalefe. I am 31 years old. I was born in Lagos state Nigeria.

I am married to my sweetheart Eseverere and we have been married for 6 years, our marriage has been blessed with 3 handsome boys.

I have a bachelor's degree in sociology and psychology which I am currently not using because I resigned from my job as a CSR in a reputable aviation company after I had my third son.

I took the decision to stay home and homeschool my sons and also create content relating to my struggles as a mom and also document precious moments I have with my family.

I currently have a Youtube channel I am growing called "Nene Vlogs" where I create content relating to motherhood, lifestyle, cooking and vlogs.

I love to read and currently I am reading "Zikora" by the best selling author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

My Ultimate goal is to eventually have my own business. I will love to start up an African grocery store and restaurant because cooking is also one of my many hobbies.

I cannot talk about motherhood as a journey if I don't mention my Miracle sons...Oghenefegor who is age 4 his name means (IT IS GOOD TO SERVE GOD!)

Fegor came as a blessing after I lost my 3rd pregnancy at 20 weeks...the baby stopped growing at 16 weeks, we didn't know because I wasn't bleeding and my next dr.appointment was at 20 weeks. I had a D&C on the 14th of September 2015,I was so angry and bitter at God! i prayed so bitterly and said if he is God he should show himself to me and hubby.

On 13th September 2016, we were blessed with a beautiful baby Boy... he weighed 9lbs and 22inches long we called him Oghenefegor Micheal. It was almost exactly a year since our loss. He is our rainbow baby and I am so blessed to be his mother!

I had Omonigho 18 months after i had my first and when i held him for the first time i knew we were meant for each other. OMONIGHO means CHILD IS GREATER THAN WEALTH,he turns 3 year old in May,2021 and my last baby boy, EFETOBORE.which means MY WEALTH IS PERMANENT! turned 1 in January.

Lessons I have learnt from being a mother;

Be grateful for everything you have.

You will always figure out a way.

Stop comparing your life to others

Prepare for the unexpected

Be present and intentional

There is no being selfish

You can't please everyone

There is no love like the love of your child(ren)

My Advice will be "DON'T TRY TO BE A PERFECT MOM" TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS AND ENJOY YOUR BUNDLE OF JOY!
