About one week ago I had to travel for work. I wanted to document some of the memories me and the family got a chance to make. So, if you're interested keep reading! :)
So, while in New Orleans we visited the World War II Museum. It was a very interesting museum. I didn't think I'd enjoy it at first, and really just did it for Eilan and hubby, but I actually had a lot of fun. lol The museum really takes you into the lives of those living during WWII, and some of the things I enjoyed were the simulated train ride in the L.W. "Pete" Kent Train Car Experience, the AFRICAN AMERICAN EXPERIENCE in the ARSENAL OF DEMOCRACY, THE ROAD TO TOKYO, and walking through a remake of a kitchen during that time. Eilan especially loved the motor vehicles and the aircrafts that were in the US FREEDOM PAVILION: THE BOEING CENTER.
We ate at Bearcat Cafe a total of 3 times! I think that tells you what we thought about it! lol
Next, we visited the USS ALABAMA BATTLESHIP MEMORIAL PARK. This is something that was not planned. On the way back home, we spotted this from the expressway and decided to exit immediately. This museum totally fit our little family field trip and I am glad we stopped. If you are ever in the Spanish Fort area, please stop by...it's worth it. Total admission was $30 because we did not pay for the kids. I loved going aboard the USS ALABAMA BATTLESHIP, and going through the AIRCRAFT COLLECTION, specifically, seeing the Red Tail planes. This museum was a pleasant surprise and full of rich history. Not to mention the ship and aircrafts were beautiful.
It was pretty awesome creating memories like these for the kids. I love that they will be able to look at these photos and watch the videos made one day.
