Overall I'm Great!
IMG_8309.png

Hey Ya'll,

I wanted to share this look with you all but I also wanted to share some thoughts I've been having. This location was so beautiful and vast. Being out in nature really reminds me of just how BIG God is. I felt so tiny yet so significant. I felt protected even when standing in this large un-developed field. Being a child of God makes me feel protected and loved and important. No matter what happens in my life, I know that I am significant in God's eyes. If I never received one world accolade, I know that God awaits me with open arms. There is such a security and deep satisfaction in that. It makes me excited about heaven! Any who, enjoy the look! :)

The long-sleeve shirt is my hubby's. The overalls are about two years old. The shoes are from Charlotte Russe. I love purchasing shoes from there when they have sales!

Fun Fact: I purchased these overalls about 1 1/2 years ago. They fit good back then, but they fit even better today! Yippee! Oh! I forgot to mention that they were purchased from Old Navy!

The pic on the left is from March 2016, the one on the right is from today!

Hi Everyone,

This army green bomber jacket has me feeling all types of tough! This is another piece from Zaful, and I am in love!! This look is on the rugged and casual side and a little out of the norm for me, but I’m loving it!

The olive green is such a nice pop of color during the Winter months. You can wear something like this year-round, too! Wear it during the spring with a t-shirt, jeans, and sandals or wear it in the summer with shorts and a tank top. I love the French-inspired patchwork. The patches really takes this bomber jacket to new style heights!

I decided to pair this jacket with a sheer, polka dot bodysuit and velvet leggings with over-the-knee boots for the Winter. The thick-framed cat eye sunglasses add the finishing touch of edge.

Look out! Mom & son army coming your way! I thought it’d be cute if we wore these jackets on the same day!

Concrete Sunflower!

Hey loves,

Lately I've been thinking about how we sometimes miss out on the beauty that is right in front of our eyes. We get caught up with what we don't have, where we should be, or what we should be doing, and take for granted what we are experiencing. Sometimes, it takes those very circumstances in order for our purpose, our true essence, to burst forth. As ironic as it sounds, the symbolism of the concrete rose paints the picture that, instead of allowing our circumstances to stunt our growth we allow them to strengthen our resolve to bloom. So, as an ode to this yellow dress, I call this post the concrete sunflower.

I love this look because it is playful, modest, and effortless. Who says fast fashion can't be stylish?

My Summer Wardrobe Wish List! Cheap Sundresses!

Hey everyone,

In this post I want to share the 411 on where you can get some cheap sundresses! I just love summer because it's an excuse for me to don colorful, soft, and flow sundresses every single day! I recently visited an online shop, Rosegal, that's home to some pretty adorable summer dresses. I created a wish list to inspire myself, and hopefully you!

 Fun in the Sun:

This is the kind of dress that inspires you to be outside soaking up the rays. I love the cold shoulder detailing, along with the slit in the front.

The Day Date:

You could wear this to brunch with your significant other with light makeup and your hair pulled back and then rock it with a smokey eye and tousled hair for a night time look! I love the combination of form-fitting plus off the shoulder details.

 Curvy's Best Friend:

This vibrant number will look good on almost all curvy body types because of the cinched waist detailing. Whether you are a pear shape, or naturally born with the hourglass physique, this dress accentuates the waist. The bold print takes the attention away from things you might be self-conscious about and, instead, draws the eyes to the trail of color you leave behind!

 The Almost Dress a.k.a Romper:

I love that rompers feel like dresses and wear like shorts. They provide a one-stop shop for getting ready, much like dresses, but give you a little more coverage in the event that a gust of wind catches you off-guard. This romper is white and boho chic. How could you ask for more?

Wrap it Up!

You've got to love a good wrap dress. In this multicolor print you can literally do anything with this dress. You can wear it to a summer wedding, a baby shower, a date night, to church...you get the picture, right?

You want some new clothes, why not taking a look over here?

Fashion Minute: One Skirt, 2 Ways

Hi Again Friend,

Over the weekend I styled this beautiful rust skirt, purchased from Forever21. I scored this skirt on clearance for only $6!

You can find a similar one here

In the first look I paired this skirt with a chambray blouse and chandelier earrings. I also wore a pair of ankle strap pumps (also purchased from Forever21), and my new "diaper bag" (more details on that in an upcoming post).

In the second look, I wore the same skirt with an off the shoulder 'peasant-style' blouse for a 70's/bohemian feel. I knotted the blouse, as I did in the first look, to keep the proportions of the outfit balanced.

I could have easily changed the bag and shoes to put an altogether different spin on the second look, but I decided to keep it simple.

I am looking to minimize my wardrobe and start afresh, lately. As a result, I have been challenging myself to create new outfit combos with pieces that I love. I hope this post inspired you to do the same!
