My Secret to Feeling Polished...
FullSizeRender.jpg

Hey Ya'll!

I'm back with some fashion and faith inspo for you! The thing I love about getting dressed is that it instantly lifts my mood. I am a huge proponent for the notion that you should always look your best. You never know who God will put on your path, so it's best to leave your home looking the part everyday. Some days will call for workout gear, while others call for a dress shirt and pants. The important thing is how you put yourself together. The goal for me is that I am always put together and confident, regardless of what I have on.

What has happened to me in the past is that I always run into someone I know, or someone important when I look 'bummy'. I always kick myself after the encounter wishing I had put the extra effort into how I looked before leaving the house. I also wanted to remind you all that it is not about how much you spend on your clothing (although there are some exceptions to this thought), but how you pair items.

This affordable dress and pair of shoes was paired with a luxury handbag and bracelet.  When all the pieces come together you'd think I spent a whole lot on the look. (I'll do another post in the future about what you should spend more money versus less money on...)

Ultimately, though, you want to work on feeling good from the inside out. In my opinion, it's hard to work on your confidence without first having identity. For me, I find identity in who God says I am. On days when I feel horrible or less than confident, I reflect on what He says about me.

His word says, "For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works my soul knows it very well". (Psalms 139; 13-14, ESV)

The photos I posted today are video stills, hence the slightly inferior quality (opposed to my normal photos).

Miami Metropolitan International Fashion Week

I'm in Miami for the 2nd annual MMIFW! I got invited as press for my blog. I absolutely LOVE attending fashion events. I plan on getting connected and building a larger network this year. Fashion allows me another outlet for my music (my first love).

On the first night, for the VIP reception, I donned a floral body con dress. This dress was purchased on clearance at H&M for only $7.50!! It was originally almost $40 at regular price.

My earrings were purchased from H&M

Color-blocked clutch: H&M
Purchased for only $3.50 on clearance

BCBG Sandals: Dillard's outlet
These sandals were originally $99, but I purchased
them for only $25 on clearance.
This dress has an interesting cutout detail on the back. My hair covered it that night,
but maybe I'll give this dress a spin with my hair up next time I wear it.

The VIP reception was held at a swanky South Beach hotel lounge.

These lovely ladies represent Miss Latina International.
They also modeled some pieces during the fashion show.

Getting interviewed by MiamiTV...can't wait to see the interview!
I started to perspire due to the humidity outdoors.

Some red carpet LOVE. ;)

Looking forward to inspiring some young people by working
with this amazing organization. Astrid you are amazing!
As usual my wonderful husband was there to support me. He takes all my photos and
videos and without him I'd be lost. I love you babes.

I met some great people the first night. So far I managed to make it to the first night,
so stay tuned for more posts on MMIFW.

XOXO,
