Mommy Minute: feat. Ritchie Chery-Larose

Hi Mommies,

Thanks for dropping by the website! I am so excited to be back! Recently, the Lord spoke to my heart that I need to start highlighting some other women through LeMomLife. It’s something I have wanted to do since the inception of this platform, but now is finally the time. I have come across (both in person and virtually) some of the most amazing women since I started LeMomLife. It has been a pleasure to get to know these women and learn from them. I am even more inspired by their roles as mothers. Once a week, I will be highlighting one or two women on this website, and on my social media platforms.

Today, I have the pleasure of highlighting my very own twin mommy friend. We are the same height, same age, same ethnicity, have the same number of children and we even gave birth to our third child on the exact same day! She has such a warm and gentle spirit, great taste and has such a beautiful family.

I'm a lover of Christ, a wife of 8 years to my soulmate Patrick, and a mommy of three, two smart, charismatic boys Paxton age 5 and Aithan age 3 and a sweet little lady named Selah age 1. They truly are the light of my life! Unbeknownst to me, being a wife and a mommy were never part of my life "agenda," but God! When we plan he surely laughs. Being a wife and mommy were clearly part of his greater plan for my life so...Here I AM!

Before my adventure to Mommy-hood, I completed my Bachelors in Health services, and minor concentration in Psychology. I later discovered a love of travel and that introduced a completely different career path.

I am currently a Flight Attendant for a major airline and it has been an amazing 13 years of flying (so far). Seeing parts of the world that one can only dream of, has been such an accomplishment. Also, learning about different cultures and tasting different foods has been a blessing and a slight curse (on my waistline).

A newfound hobby of mine is interior decorating, I come from a line of women who have excellent taste in interior design and I feel like a bit of that has rubbed off on me.

My Faith in God has enveloped my life as a woman, a wife and a mother. There are so many spiritual/physical attacks on the Black family; and I truly believe my faith and immense prayer has covered my family thus far.

One lesson my journey into motherhood has taught me is GRACE. It's imperative to show yourself grace as a mother, we aren't perfect and there aren't any manuals on how to be a "perfect" mother, but grace will allow you to accept all of your efforts and to embrace your own motherhood style.

A bit of advice to new moms and the "seasoned" ones, is PATIENCE. Be patient with this journey as there will be both good and bad times of motherhood but the good times are so much sweeter!

Thank you for sharing about your life with us, Ritchie. And thank you for the advice, too.

xx,

Ker-Leen
